Yuang Shi

In me the tiger sniffes the rose.

Hi! This is Yuang (宇昂), a first-year Ph.D. student at School of Computing, National University of Singapore, supervised by Prof. Ooi Wei Tsang. Previously, I received my Master’s degree from School of Computing, National University of Singapore in May 2022. I got my Bachelor’s degree with honors in Software Engineering from Sichuan University in July 2021, where I was affiliated to Wu Yuzhang Honors College for outstanding students.

My research interests lie in artificial intelligence in healthcare, especially in medical image processing and real-time life analytics. I’m also interested in volumetric video, including the researches about compression, streaming, evaluation. Currently, I am committed to developing AI systems for improving medication adherence of adolescent and young adult (AYA) patients.

I have many hobbies, e.g. photography, music, reading, writing. I love photography and most of my photos are posted on flickr. I love piano, Bach and Chopin are my favourite musicians. I always get lost in Goldberg Variations and Nocturnes. I love reading, the works of Fyodor Dostoevsky and Milan Kundera greatly influence me. I also love writing, I have been writing Chinese essays in my personal blog for 4 years since 2018.
